English Drama: Search Options
You can limit your search to particular elements of the data contained in English Drama by selecting items from the Search Options drop-down lists on the Search page.
The first set of Search Options applies to the whole database:
- All English Drama: retrieves hits in all areas of the database.
- English Verse Drama: restricts the results of your search to verse drama only.
- English Prose Drama: restricts the results of your search to prose drama only.
The second set of Search Options applies to Keyword searches:
- Including Notes: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) in notes as well as Full Text.
- Excluding Notes: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) only in Full Text.
- Notes Only: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) only in notes.
The third set of Search Options applies to the whole database:
- Whole Plays and Associated Text: retrieves hits in all areas of the database.
- Speeches Only: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) in speeches only.
- Prologues Only: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) in prologues only.
- Epilogues Only: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) in epilogues only.
- Songs Only: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) in songs only.
- Poems Only: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) in poems only.
- Titles Only: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) in titles only.
- Stage Directions Only: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) in stage directions only.
- Castlists Only: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) in castlists only.
- Dedications Only: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) in dedications only.
- Arguments Only: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) in arguments only.
- Epigraphs and Mottoes Only: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) in epigraphs and mottoes only.
- Additional Material Only: searches for occurrences of your search term(s) in additional material only.
The options selected by default are All English Drama, Including Notes and Whole Plays and Associated Text.
