From the Full Text page, you can use the Page Toolbar to open a context-sensitive Help page, to refine your search, to look up a term in a dictionary, or to access a Text Only version of the Full Text, or a contextual Table of Contents. In addition, you can move straight to the first occurrence of your search term.
From every page in African-American Poetry you can use the Right-Hand Toolbar to consult general information about African-American Poetry, to start a new search, and to access the top-level Table of Contents page.
You can access the Full Text page for a document in one of two ways:
The Full Text page contains the text of the poems in African-American Poetry. The order of the Full Text is the same as the order of the Table of Contents; works are arranged alphabetically by poet and then by title. The contents of the volumes themselves follow their copy texts in structure and order so that headings and divisions within the copy text are preserved.
A header is displayed in bold at the top of each Full Text page giving the title of the current item and the context of the item in the database. This is then followed by the main body of the text of the volume or poem. A number of standard display formats have been used.
