From the Summary of results in context page, you can use the Page Toolbar to open a context-sensitive Help page or to refine your original search. From every page in American Drama you can use the Right-Hand Toolbar to consult general information about the database, to start a new search, to access the top-level Table of Contents page and to link to other Individual Literature Collections.
The Summary of results in context page
displays the results of your search at play level. In the case of a Keyword search each
hit within a play will be displayed in a line of context with five words on either side.
Each hit is indicated by a
in the line of context. Only five hits per work are displayed, and if there
are more hits contained in a work than are shown the link [View context of all hits in
this work] is displayed below the entry. Click this link to display the Context
of results screen, which gives a full listing of hits. From this screen you can link
to the previous play, next play, or return to the Summary of results in context screen.
Where your search consists solely of non-keyword elements, for example if you search for all works of a particular playwright, the Summary of results in context will display all plays by that particular playwright.
In the line above the Summary of results in context display, you will see the number of occurrences of your search term(s) and the number of entries in which your search term(s) appears. In addition, each entry is marked with the number of occurrences of your search expression in that play.
If the Summary of results in context spans more than one page, the number of pages will display. You can click on the page numbers to navigate your way through the Summary of results in context.
You can download the Full text of any play by selecting it in the Summary of results in context. Each level displays the download size in bytes of the corresponding Full text page.
Note: The larger the download size of an item, the longer the Full text will take to download.
