You can execute a search using a combination of the following search fields:

All Keyword

From the Search page, you can use the All Keyword field to search for any word or phrase contained within the bibliography. To enter terms into the search box:

For example:
All Keyword: legend
All Keyword: middle english

When searching in the Keyword field, you can use truncation to retrieve records containing variations of a term. If you choose to search for more than one term, you can also combine them using Boolean and proximity searching.

Title Keyword

From the Search page, you can use the Title Keyword field to search for any word or phrase contained in the title of a record. To enter items into the search box:

For example:
Title Keyword: Chaucer

When searching in the Title Keyword field, you can use truncation to retrieve records containing variations of a term. If you choose to search for more than one term, you can also combine them using Boolean and proximity searching.

Subject

From the Search page, you can use the Subject field to search for any word or phrase contained in the subject information assigned to each record. To enter items into the search box:

For example:
Subject: English Literature: General: Prose

When searching in the Subject field, you can use truncation to retrieve records containing variations of a term. If you choose to search for more than one term, you can also combine them using Boolean and proximity searching.

Author/Reviewer

From the Search page, you can limit a search to records of a particular author, reviewer or contributor. To enter terms in the Author/Reviewer search box:

For example:
Author: Ashcraft, Richard

When searching in the Author/Reviewer field, you can use truncation to retrieve records of authors with common or similar names. If you choose to search for more than one author, you can also combine them using Boolean and proximity searching.

Publication Details

From the Search page, you can search on the publication details for any record. To enter terms in the Publication Details search box:

For example:
Publication Details: Cambridge

When searching in the Publication Details field, you can use truncation to retrieve records containing variations of a term. If you choose to search for more than one location term, you can also combine them using Boolean and proximity searching.

Journal

From the Search page, you can search on the journal title in which any article was published. To enter terms in the Journal search box:

For example:
Journal: Historical Journal (Cambridge)

When searching in the Journal field, you can use truncation to retrieve records containing variations of a term. If you choose to search for more than one location term, you can also combine them using Boolean and proximity searching.

Publication Year

You can limit a search to works published during a specific year or a range of years. The default values appearing in the search boxes represent the earliest and most recent years of publication.
